March Missionary Report
Calvary Greetings to you through the mighty Anointed Name of Jesus Christ. I bring greetings from Uganda especially my family. I will firstly take this moment of appreciation to thank you for your continued Love, Support and more importantly your Prayers.
The Lord has brought me back home safely from the Great missionary Trip, I have stepped back and thought why God has been taking me to such dreadful missions, but then I feel honored by God to use me in a special way to reach to the places where the Gospel hasn’t been preached. What an honor! I was able to arrive to the Top of the mountains through very thick and dangerous forests to preach to the pygmies or short people. This Trip is indescribable in words but I will try to be detail as possible, this community has a lot to talk about, but first these people do not wear clothes, AT ALL! Luckily I was able to take some photos of some that wear wearing animal skin for clothes, these are the ones living close to the town centers. You can imagine how cold this place is but they don’t wear anything, they survive on farming mostly they grow the best Irish potatoes in the land.
As short as they are, they are muscular and very strong, you don’t look at them in a disrespectful way to mean that they are short! You would be killed instantly and nobody would care to find you. But once you are able to adapt to their way of life (which is very hard) understand their communication, respect their culture well you can be welcomed. I didn’t know all these things but thank the Holy Spirit who teaches us. They speak a different language, I faced a hard time with communication, while at the bus stop. Everyone was wondering why I was going up the mountain, no TALL person goes up to this community. Some have been speared to death, etc. But the Grace of God sustained me and kept me well, I spent about 3 days traveling by foot to get to the mountain, it rained heavily, it got very dark and I had to sleep in one of the caves I found under huge trees, with every creature making the loudest noise mostly the monkeys, I was afraid of snakes, but all the time I kept my self alone in prayer. In one of these forests, history is recorded that rebels used to kidnap, kill, and do a lot of evil in these thick forests, it was their home.
On arrival, I greeted the first people who looked at me in a very strange way with an accent that attracted the others to come, I immediately removed my Bible, it was very dark, unpacked my back pack, prepared to show the Jesus film. I knew this would settle all the questions they had, I must als state that the Jesus Film has power to render every strong hold, Every evil, powerless. It has the power to that convicts people of their sin and to come to the full knowledge of Christ.
Before I knew what was happening, the entire community had gathered in number to see the screen. They enjoyed all movies in one night. All the movies that I ought to show in 3 days, they watched them in ONE NIGHT! I was extremely exhausted. They were happy, they have never seen something like that before, the Chief of elders later invited me to his home where I spent the night and preached to him in the best language I could have him understand. They would allow me speak as they all gathered around me and listening to me speak. They liked me, everyone was happy the following day, they showed me around. They shared with me their rich history about the land, their challenges which among them is lack of education, they would love to read and write, but nobody comes to them, everyone seems to be afraid of them and they refer them as half human beings. They have no hospitals, schools, they rely on herbal medicines, plants etc. I witnessed God in this village touching hearts of many, more than 60 souls received Christ, and all were baptized. Because this is one big community or village on a mountain I didn’t go hit to hut like I always do while preaching, instead each day I shared at a local village ground. Just as I write, I remember these memories like I was still with them.
I haven’t met wonderful, loving people like this community in a while.
To God be the Glory!
